Re: Consultation for the purpose of possible retrenchment in terms of section 189(3) of the Labour Relations Act. This is a letter informing you in terms of section 189(3) of company’s intention to investigate the possibility of retrenching your position of position for structural and financial reasons. As you may be aware of, COVID-19 has detrimentally affected businesses and the economy severely in South Africa. Unfortunately, our company has not escaped the negative effect of the pandemic and the lock-down under which we are currently practicing. This has resulted in the possibility of your position becoming redundant.
